Stimulating the Calf Muscle Pump
VEINOPLUS® works by sending small electric pulses that stimulates the “calf pump”.
The calf muscles in your leg act as a pump that returns blood back to your heart. When the calf muscles contract, they effectively work as the body’s second heart by pumping the blood upwards against the flow of gravity. This increases the flow of blood out of the leg veins (venous return), which can in turn help fresh arterial blood to flow into the lower limbs. When this calf pump isn’t working correctly, circulation is reduced and can lead to the pooling of blood in the lower legs.

The VEINOPLUS® device sends electrical pulses, powered by a battery, through two electrode pads applied to one or both calves. The pulses mimic the signals coming from the central nervous system, causing the calf muscles to contract.
The device stimulates strong yet comfortable calf contractions, at an intensity rate set by the user, to invigorate venous blood return to the heart. One session with the VEINOPLUS® runs through a programmed 30 minute cycle.
